Munich Re Experts Forum, Thailand

In January Sam Koh Managing Director of our Singapore Office, attended the Munich Re Experts’ Forum in Bangkok, Thailand. Delegates included Munich Re personnel, loss adjusters, and other experts.
Munich Re organised the forums primarily for their consultants to interact with the experts that are often used by their cedant insurance company clients.
During the Forum, the delegates were segregated into 8 groups which consisted of a mixture of experts as well as Munich Re consultants from the region and Germany. The groups were then given topics to review in detail. Sam Koh has praised this format as it created opportunities for consultants to talk and raise points perhaps they wouldn’t have done if discussions were with the entire assembly.
Munich Re concluded that experts are vital to the loss adjusting process, and that they were willing to reimburse their cedants for the costs of loss adjusters and pay experts’ fees.
