Current Duties
Responsible to the Board for international loss adjusting services carried out by the Group including:
MARINE - ports and terminals, shipping/vessels, machinery claims, ship building, ship repair, large yachts.
ENERGY - CAR/BAR/EAR, onshore, offshore, FPSOs, subsea, operating policy claims, business interruptions/loss of projects.
PROPERTY DAMAGE - fire and explosion, terrorism, hurricane, theft and robbery, cash and jewellery, fine art/specie, construction, financial institutions, goods in transit.
FINANCIAL LOSS - loss of profit, extra expenses, fidelity guarantee, bankers' blanket bond, performance guarantee, loss of licence.
LIABILITY/CASUALTY - products liability, public liability, ship repairer's liability, software defects, construction liability, professional indemnity.
Responsible for reporting to Underwriters, auditing and adjusting international insurance claims.
Damage surveys including establishing causation and failure/forensic investigations.
Fire investigations.
Providing technical support to Insurers.
Assisting Insurers with third party subrogation claims.
Adjustment of claimed costs.
Involvement with preparation and presentation of evidence for legal actions.
Acting as Expert for UK and USA litigious claims.
Experience
Over 14 years marine and energy surveying experience, initially working for Lloyd's Register of Shipping, followed by, 6 years working for a multinational loss adjusting firm.
Loss adjusting, technical surveys and investigations associated with marine and energy claims.
Damage surveys, establishing cause and origin, failure/forensic and fire investigations.
Litigation and expert work for UK and USA litigious claims.

Qualifications
Chartered EngineerBEng (Hons) Second Class Upper Division Degree in Naval Architecture and Small Craft Technology, Newcastle University, 1997
Full Member of The Royal Institute of Naval Architects (MRINA)
Full Member of The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (MIMarEST)
