Hurricane Katrina
13th September 2005
No-one in the insurance industry can fail to be affected, on both personal and professional levels, by the sheer scale of the disaster visited by Hurricane Katrina upon Louisiana and the immensity of the task facing all involved. As in all large scale catastrophes, the global insurance community will play a major role in the recovery process to which end all available resources must be mobilised and brought to bear.
Our Catastrophe Response Services (CRS) are now established in the region in partnership with our fully licensed North American associates, Eastland Claim Service Inc, while our London-based CRS team is on standby to provide the best possible loss adjusting and business recovery response. A base will be established within the New Orleans area as soon as access is permitted.
Given the scale of the disaster, we anticipate a need for active audit, project management and proactive supervisory functions to ensure quality control and to streamline the response on the ground. There are also significant cost benefit advantages to be gained in putting such measures in place at an early stage, preferably at the outset.
Concordia's wealth of experience in catastrophe response, claims management, service provider audits and reviews, combined with an understanding of our clients' needs under these trying circumstances, are at your disposal. We would refer you to our Catastrophe Response Services brochure on this website.
